Theerpu is an upcoming film written and directed by Murali Gopy and Rathish Ambat respectively, marking the reunion of the two after the 2018 film Kammara Sambhavam. Produced by Vijay Babu, Rathish Ambat and Murali Gopy under the banner of Friday Film House, the film stars, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Murali Gopy, Indrajith Sukumaran, Isha Talwar, and Saiju Kurup among others. The film's cinematography has been handled by Sunil KS, with Murali Gopy having written the songs and composed the music. Gopi Sunder has composed the background music. Deepu Joseph is the editor.
As the film is gearing up for its release, the makers of the film dropped the second teaser. It features the flashback of a few friends in their childhood playing cricket and later cuts to the present where they are seen playing cricket again in the present time. It showcases the close bond between the friends as they are seen playing cricket as youngsters and even years later as adults.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Prithviraj Sukumaran was last seen in Malayalam masala film Kaduva which released earlier this year. Apart from Theerpu, he also has Gold and Aadujeevitham in his kitty. The former, which is in its post-production phase, is being directed by Premam fame Alphonse Puthren. The film also stars Lady Superstar Nayanthara as the film's female lead. The film has been scheduled for a theatrical release on 26 August 2022. Aadujeevitham is a epic survival drama film written and directed by Blessy of Pranayam fame. Prithviraj will be seen taking on the role of Najeeb, an Indian immigrant worker living in Saudi Arabia. He also has his fourth directorial film title Tyson in the works which will be bankrolled by Hombale Films, the production house behind the KGF films. Tyson will be released in Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
