'Thalapathy' Vijay's Varisu is gearing up for a grand Pongal release in January 2023 and is currently being shot in Hyderabad, Telangana. Being directed by Vamshi Paidipally of Maharshi and Thozha fame, the upcoming film is billed to be a family entertainer and is being bankrolled by blockbuster Telugu producer-distributor Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. Among the several big highlights in Varisu, Vijay will be seen opposite national sensation Rashmika Mandanna, while also sharing screen space alongside an ensemble star cast that includes the likes of Shaam, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Jayasudha, Yogi Babu, actress Sangeetha Krish, Srikanth, and Bigg Boss 4 fame Samyuktha Shanmughanathan and others in vital roles.

With production on Varisu progressing at a brisk pace, actor Shaam took to social media on the evening of Friday, September 9, and shared a photo of himself along with an inspirational message for fans from what is believed to be the Varisu shooting spot. Seen wearing a full-sleeves yellow T-shirt with a zipper, he posted the picture on his Instagram along with the caption: "STOP FOLLOWING START CHASING UR DREAAAMMMSSSSS😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 #varisu #dreams". Shaam, who has played the lead in many films like 12B, Lesa Lesa, Iyarkai, and Ullam Ketkumae, will be playing a pivotal role in Vijay's Varisu, which is en route to the final leg of shooting in the days ahead.
