Upon being asked whether he's watched Ajith's Thunivu, Vamshi revealed, "No, I haven't seen it yet, but I'm going to watch it. I'm listening to good things about that film too. And, I heard a lot about Vinoth. Gopi Prasannaa, the designer, he's like a brother to me and I love him a lot for the person that he is. His work is of course (phenomenal). He only designed the Thunivu and Varisu posters and he always used to tell nice things about Vinoth. He always said that Vinoth even appreciates, from the time the film (Varisu) was announced, he keeps on appreciating that this is going to be a good film. But, really, I haven't gotten the time to watch Thunivu, but I'm definitely going to watch the film."
Vamshi Paidipally has delivered a well-packaged family entertainer with Varisu, which has also done tremendous business in Telugu (Vaarasudu) and Hindi (Varisu), and is en route to becoming one of the biggest blockbusters in Vijay's career. The film has completed two weeks in theatres and is still witnessing a huge audience turnout in several parts of Tamil Nadu, while also going on to become the second highest-grossing Tamil film of all time in the United Kingdom right behind Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan: 1.
