Tamil Nadu government on Monday, January 10, issued orders for the cancellation of early morning 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. shows, of Ajith Kumar's Thunivu and 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Varisu across the state from January 13 - 16, while the schedule for the special shows will proceed as per schedule on January 11 and 12. Both the highly-anticipated films are set to storm into theatres on January 11, with Thunivu kicking off the proceedings with the 1 a.m. show, while Varisu will take the celebrations to a greater plane at 4 a.m. in most cities and towns in the state.
As per the Tamil Nadu GO, permission should not be given to hold special shows of Vijay's Varisu and Ajith's Thunivu at morning 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. from January 13 - 16 in cinemas coming under the Chennai Metropolitan Corporation, Municipalities, Unions, and Panchayats in all the districts of the state. The order further stated that permission should not be given for milk anointing by keeping high banner cutouts at the entrance of the theatre premises. In addition, the order asserted that action will be taken against violations relating to the collection of ticket charges and parking fees in excess of the rated fixed by the government.
This latest decision by the government will come as a bit of a disappointment for a section of the fans, but the spirits among the audiences, in general, are high as everyone is looking to witness both Vijay and Ajith in action on the big screen once again. The Varisu and Thunivu box office meeting has been one of the most debated topics among fans of Vijay and Ajith in recent times as the two Tamil superstars' films are releasing at the same time after nearly a decade when their Jilla and Veeram opened in cinemas at Pongal 2014.
