The countdown has already begun for 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Master, which is slated to come out as a massive Pongal release in January 2021. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film said to be coming out in theatres on January 13, 2021 will see Vijay sharing screen space with 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi, who is playing the antagonist. Being distributed by Lalit Kumar of 7 Screen Studios, the film's theatrical release in Malaysia has now been confirmed via a poster in a paper advertisement for Pongal in January. Vijay's Master releasing in theatres is being considered to be a big deal for cinema hall owners and fans as there are high expectations for the film to bring back the theatre business and movie-going experience. In an official press release in November, producer Xavier Britto and distributor Lalit Kumar in a joint statement spoke about Master's theatre release. "Though we have an offer from a reputed OTT service provider, we prefer to the theatrical release, which is the need of the hour for the industry to survive the on-going crisis. We also request the theatre owners to stand with us and provide their support for reviving the Tamil Film Industry", XB Film Creators' press note read. 

With the Malaysian paper ad for Vijay's Master now out, we can expect promotions for the film to shoot up gradually in the days ahead considering the makers will be looking to bring out an explosive trailer that betters the teaser that was released this Diwali. The Master teaser has so far gone on to shatter records left and right winning the hearts of fans everywhere, who have been gushing about it even after a month since it’s released. Announced initially to come out in theatres worldwide on April 9, 2020, theatre-owners are now looking forward with eager anticipation for Master to hit screens next month as there is a strong belief that Vijay's star power supported by Vijay Sethupathi's screen presence will do wonders at the box office. Featuring smash hit songs by Anirudh Ravichander, the film will also see Malavika Mohanan as the female lead, followed by Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Arjun Das, Andrea Jeremiah, Gouri Kishan, Master Mahendran, KPY Dheena, Ramya Subramanian, Azhagam Perumal among others forming the supporting cast.
