The All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (TVMI) organized a special lunch program on Sunday, May 28, on World Hunger Day, for the poor and the downtrodden across the 234 constituencies in Tamil Nadu and is also being followed in Puducherry, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra. The actor's fans unit has been involved in various philanthropic activities over the years and this latest noble gesture is once again winning hearts. Photos and videos of lunch being distributed to the needy have gone viral, with TVMI Secretary Bussy N. Anand also seen interacting with press persons in Trichy regarding the efforts.
There have been speculations for quite some time now that Vijay is laying the foundation for his entry into the political arena in the future. There were also reports a while back stating that the actor is planning to hold a meeting with toppers in the Tamil Nadu SSLC and plus two examinations this year. During the Varisu audio launch last year, Vijay had spoken about how his fans had donated blood and said that it is the only thing that doesn't separate people in the name of any race, religion, or caste. He further revealed that more than 6,000 fans had come forward to make the donation through an app. It is to be noted that an eye donation app called the 'Thalapathy Vijay Vizhiyagam' was also launched towards the end of 2022.
On the work front, Vijay is currently filming 7 Screen Studio's Leo under Lokesh Kanagaraj's direction featuring music by Anirudh Ravichander making it a reunion for the trio after their 2021 blockbuster, Master. The upcoming action film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 19 and fans are now waiting for the next big treat from the film on the Tamil superstar's birthday on June 22. Vijay was also announced by AGS Entertainment a few days to be joining hands with hit director Venkat Prabhu and music director Yuvan Shankar Raja for the tentatively titled Thalapathy 68, which will be out in cinemas as a 2024 release.
