'Thalapathy' Vijay is celebrating his 49th birthday today and wishes are pouring in for the Tamil cinema superstar from all quarters. The actor is celebrating his birthday in the midst of shooting his next big film, the highly-anticipated Leo, under Lokesh Kanagaraj's direction. Vijay has come a long way in his illustrious three-decade career to reach the peak and is now the numero uno in terms of the performances of his films at the box office and his popularity as witnessed often on social media. With Vijay's birthday today, it is assumed that the Leo team will likely celebrate the occasion on the film's sets, with photos and videos expected to be released soon. 

Considering Vijay is one of the biggest names in Indian cinema owing to the reach of his films and the undying adulation he enjoys among his fans, we have compiled a list of the leading celebrities who have extended their hearty birthday wishes to the superstar.  In the light, filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj signaled the celebrations at midnight by unveiling the Leo first look poster and conveying his birthday wishes to Vijay. The director of Vijay's next film, the tentatively titled Thalapathy 68, Venkat Prabhu kept his birthday wishes simple and retweeted the Leo first look poster saying, "Happy bday na!!!❤️❤️❤️ (sic)".

Likewise, Thalapathy 68 producer Archana Kalpathi shared a never-before-seen picture she took with Vijay during the time of Master's release and revealed how his and the 2021 blockbuster film's team's decision to release it in theatres revived the film industry. The Bigil producer wrote, "Happy Birthday Vijay, Sir 😊 Looking forward to Leo and working with you again for #Thalapathy68. This picture was taken just after Master's release when I met him to thank him for waiting and releasing it in the theatres. That decision gave so many of us in the industry much-needed hope. Will always cherish this picture 😊 (sic)".

Filmmaker Atlee, who has worked with Vijay on three blockbusters - Theri (2016), Mersal (2017), and Bigil (2019), shared the Leo first look and shared his birthday wishes on Instagram. Telugu director Vamshi Paidipally, who collaborated with Vijay for Varisu released earlier this year, wished the actor by sharing a picture for the sets of their film writing, "Happiest Birthday dear  @actorvijay  Sir... Wishing You the Best of everything always...🤗 ❤️   #HBDThаlаpаthyVIJAY (sic)". 

Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt, who will be making his Tamil cinema debut in Leo, tweeted, "Wishing a very happy birthday to brother  @actorvijay ! Looking forward to Leo's release, wishing you a year filled with success and happiness! (sic)". 

'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander, who is composing the songs and the background for the fourth time for a Vijay venture with Leo after their previous collaborations - Kaththi (2014), Master (2021), and Beast (2022), shared the first look poster of their upcoming film and shared his wishes. He wrote, "Happy birthday dearest Thalapathy  @actorvijay  sir ❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗 #Leo #LeoFirstLook (sic)". 

Celebrated composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, who is joining hands with Vijay for their upcoming Thalapathy 68 after their Pudhiya Geethai (2003), shared a photo he took with the actor back in late 2021. Extending his wishes to the actor, he wrote on his Instagram Story, "Happy birthday God bless you ❤️🤗🤗@actorvijay (sic)".

Filmmaker Rathna Kumar, who is penning the dialogues in Leo, took to Twitter to post a fan-made art work of Vijay and shared his wishes. He tweeted, "Happy Birthday Hon'ble Commander  @actorvijay  Anna 🧡🎁🎊 . Then, today and forever You are our beloved kingdom lord 🌟 .(sic)"

Velayudham director Mohan Raja wrote on Twitter, "Happy birthday to my dearest and the most special Thalapathy  @actorvijay  🤗💛 #HappyBirthdayThalapathyVijay (sic)". 

Having shown his admiration for Vijay on a number of occasions in the past, Premam director Alphonse Puthren shared the Leo first look and conveyed his wishes to the actor. He tweeted, "Sema scene irukku pola. 😀🔥  Happy Birthday  @actorvijay  na. ❤  #HBDThalapathyVIJAY #Leo 🔥🧊 (sic)". 

Legendary actress Raadika Sarathkumar posted a picture of herself with Vijay taken after the shooting of his Varisu earlier this year. She wrote, "Happy happy birthday dearest ⁦ @actorvijay ⁩ keep rocking ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️rockstar 😍😍😍(sic)".

National Award-winning Tamil music director and actor G. V. Prakash Kumar extended his wishes to Vijay and wished him good health. He tweeted, "Happy birthday dear  @actorvijay  sir have a beautiful healthy year ahead 💫✨👏👏(sic)". 

Actor Harish Kalyan shared a photo he took with Vijay before his marriage and revealed how he will always cherish it.
