Blockbuster production-distribution banner 7 Screen Studio has officially confirmed the casting of 'Action King' Arjun in actor Vijay's Thalapathy 67 directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The iconic Tamil actor will be seen in a key role and it is the first time he is collaborating with the Tamil superstar after other big names like Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt, celebrated Tamil filmmakers Mysskin and Gautham Vasudev Menon, actress Priya Anand, veteran actor Mansoor Ali Khan, and popular choreographer Sandy master were announced to be a part of the film's cast on Tuesday, January 31. Joining the cast of Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj's Thalapathy 67, Arjun said, "Boarding a mighty ship (T67) navigated and commanded by a fantabulous captain (LK). TIME TO ROARRRR".

Arjun, who has delivered several memorable box office blockbusters in Tamil like Gentleman, Jaihind, Karnaa, Mudhalvan, is no newcomer to sharing screen space with a superstar as he played a pivotal role alongside 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan in Kuruthipunal and it will no doubt be interesting to witness him alongside Vijay this time around. Furthermore, being a filmmaker himself, it will be exciting to see the Tamil cinema star working with a hotshot director like Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has been the talk of the town over the past few years having delivered one hit film after another.
There have been speculations that Arjun will likely be playing a negative role in Thalapathy 67 once again after he impressed everyone with his powerful performance as a big bad techie in Vishal's Irumbu Thirai (2018), while a photo of his new look has been going viral on social media since last week. The upcoming Tamil film is the first major role for the Kannada-Tamil actor after he was seen playing a supporting character in 2021's Friendship, while also making a pivotal appearance in Sivakarthikeyan's Hero in 2019. Thalapathy 67 has been hot on the list of topics among Tamil cinema fans ever since it was revealed that Vijay, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and blockbuster composer Anirudh Ravichander are coming back together after the staggering box office success of their Master.
