Many actors bashed and erupted to his statements that endorsed misogyny, patriarchy and violence. On the 15th of July, a news that a man has smashed his 19 years girlfriend's head, doubting her closeness with other men. Unable to comprehend the sarcasm intended in her tweet, the twitter community cursed and verbally abused her. A few even called her out on being insensitive to the tragic issue. To the same, in another tweet, Taapsee wrote, "Statutory warning: people with no sense of sarcasm kindly ignore me n my tweet. Thank you , it was nice not knowing you".
