Swaralaya Film Fete ends
The seven-day long Swaralaya International Film Festival, organized by Swaralaya, a popular arts and cultural forum in Palakkad, in cooperation with the District Tourism Promotion Council, concluded Thursday at Hotel Fort Palace, Palakkad.
The jury Chairman P. Parameswaran announced the awards for best documentary and short film. The awards were distributed by N.N. Krishnadas, MP, at the function. ‘Door to Door’ won the award for the best short film, while ‘Pavithran–Kalavum Kazhchayum’ won the award for the best documentary film.
Sixteen films, including State award winning Adayalangal directed by M.G. Sashi, Adoor Gopalakrishnan's Nalu Pennungal, recent Mohanlal starrer Aakashagopuram by K.P. Kumaran, Paradeshi by P.T. Kunjumohammed, Ore Kadal by Shyamaprasad, Jayaraj's Gulmohar and Dileep's Mulla by Lal Jose, were screened during the festival, which begun on September 5.
