One of the most popular stars in south India, actor Suriya is on a roll these days as the first of his upcoming films, NGK, under Selvaraghavan’s direction has been announced to hit screens on May 31 followed by his action thriller, Kaappaan, scheduled now for theatrical release on August 30.
Furthermore, fans were in for a massive treat yesterday (April 23) when the reputed Studio Green banner announced a project with Suriya teaming up and is tentatively titled, Suriya 39.
Meanwhile, Suriya is at present busy with his ongoing film, Soorarai Pottru, being produced by himself under his 2D Entertainment banner with music by G. V. Prakash Kumar includes Aparna Balamurali as the female lead. Being directed by Irudhi Suttru fame Sudha Kongara, the project is said to be a biopic based on the life of G. R. Gopinath, the founder of the airline, Air Deccan.
With production carrying forward at a steady pace on Soorarai Pottru, GV Prakash has now announced on his Twitter page that singer and daughter of composer Santhosh Narayanan, Dhee, has now sung a song in the film overseas with the track described to be a quirky fun number.
It must be noted that Dhee will be collaborating for the first time with GV Prakash for Soorarai Pottru after last year's chartbuster “Rowdy Baby” composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, which went to garner over 400 million views on YouTube making it the highest view count for a south Indian song till date.
