Blockbuster Tamil films producer-distributor K. E. Gnanavel Raja recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Galatta to talk about his upcoming ventures that include Suriya's Kanguva being directed by Siva and 'Chiyaan' Vikram's Thangalaan under Pa. Ranjith's direction. With both films being made on a grand scale under his Studio Green banner, the hit producer has now spoken about Kanguva and its comparisons with 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Leo on the business front. When asked about how he views the comparisons between both the films, Gnanavel Raja said, "It's not necessary. Each of the films have their strengths. Comparisons are not needed. What we invest and what profit we get, and how much we satisfy the people will be the ending point."
Speaking further about comparisons between Kanguva and Leo, Gnanavel Raja stated, "Each of the films have their own special features. And, the audience will surely enjoy those aspects and celebrate the films. It's my firm belief." Upon being queried about both the films coming out in theatres at the same time, the Pathu Thala producer said, "There's no competition, really. We have announced that our film will release next year. Kanguva isn't coming out this year because there is a lot more work that needs to be completed. Leo is releasing for Ayudha pooja."
K. E. Gnanavel Raja is producing Kanguva with Vamsi-Pramod's UV Creations banner and the film has been announced to be coming out in 10 languages. Although the film's announcement and title reveal videos didn't give audiences a glimpse of Suriya, they sure have created a lot of intrigue since they hint at the film's plot set during different times. Kanguva will see Suriya paired opposite Bollywood sensation Disha Patani, who is making her Tamil cinema debut on a big note, with the actress recently sharing a video of herself in what appeared to be training for action sequences, which has since gone viral on social media.
