Leading Tamil actor Suriya and blockbuster director Siva's new film tentatively being called Suriya 42 was launched with a grand pooja ceremony on Sunday, August 21. According to reports, several big names from the Tamil film industry graced the occasion at the Agaram Foundation in Ramapuram, Chennai, where a huge set for the film has been erected for shooting purposes. Suriya 42's launch has been a long-awaited one ever since it was first announced back in 2019, with the film now being jointly made by Vamsi and Pramod's UV Creations and K. E. Gnanavelraja's Studio Green banners and will feature music by chart-buster composer Devi Sri Prasad.
Suriya will be reportedly paired opposite Bollywood actress and national sensation Disha Patani, who will be making her Tamil cinema debut with the upcoming film, which will have a story written by Siva and Aadhi Narayana. Mahat, who has starred in films like Mankatha, Jilla, and Maanaadu, including making an appearance in Bigg Boss Tamil season 2, is also said to be a part of Suriya 42, as he too was spotted at the film's pooja earlier today. Suriya 42 will also include Madhan Karky penning the dialogues, while the technical team features cinematographer Vetri, editor Richard Kevin, art director Milan, and stunt choreographer Supreme Sundar.
No photos and videos have so far been released by the makers of Suriya 42, which has come as a bit of a disappointment for the Jai Bhim actor's fans everywhere as many waited with eager anticipation that they could catch a glimpse of their favorite star from the pooja ceremony. Suriya, who is fresh off from his National Award win for his power-packed performance in Soorarai Pottru, will be coming out all guns blazing in Suriya 42, which is expected to be loaded with plenty of intense action. Likewise, Siva will be looking to hit the bullseye after his last film with 'Superstar' Rajinikanth, Annaatthe, turned out to be a raging box office success despite mixed reviews.
