On the work front, Rajinikanth's Jailer directed by Nelson Dilipkumar hit the bullseye grossing over 500 crores in global box office collections. The Tamil actor's next big film is the cricket-based film, Lal Salaam, under his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth's direction, which has him appearing in an extended cameo as a character named Moideen bhai. Rajinikanth is also set to start filming the tentatively titled Thalaivar 170 to be directed by Jai Bhim fame T. J. Gnanavel, which will feature songs and a background score by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander. Likewise, the veteran actor was also recently announced to be teaming up with blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj for Thalaivar 171, which will also include music composed by Anirudh.
