A film that created massive buzz during the time of its production and release, 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Kochadaiiyaan, which came out nearly a decade ago, is still revered by many of the actor's fans everywhere. The 3D animated action film directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth based on a story by K. S. Ravikumar featured music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman and continues to be remembered for its ambitious scope, making, music and various other technical aspects. Released as a grand summer treat back in May 2014, Kochadaiiyaan had memorable songs and a powerful background score composed by A. R. Rahman, and fans are finally set to get the one thing that they have wanted and waited for all these years.
Sony Music has announced that the much-awaited Kochadaiiyaan original background score will be released on February 20 and is undoubtedly a big treat for both Rajinikanth and A. R. Rahman's fans. At the time of the release, apart from the technical factors in the film, the BGMs received a special word of mention from music critics and fans, who labelled A. R. Rahman's work to be phenomenal and groundbreaking. Fans have been requesting for the Kochadaiiyaan OST and it looks like their prayers have finally been answered. This latest news will come as a big delight for ARR's fans, especially considering the Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu original score too was released recently. Kochadaiiyaan, which holds the distinction of India's first photorealistic motion capture film, featured Rajinikanth in a triple role, while Deepika Padukone, R. Sarathkumar, Aadhi, Shobana, Rukmini, Jackie Shroff, Nassar, appear in crucial roles. Released originally in Tamil, the film also came out in five additional languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi and Punjabi. Although Kochadaiiyaan received mixed reviews at the time of its release, it has since then garnered a cult following and is liked quite a lot by fans.
