Superstar Rajinikanth recently watched Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan and personally called the lead cast of the movie to praise their respective performances. Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, had taken to their respective social media pages to share their happiness about the same. Following that, one more actor has now joined the list. Yes! Sarath Kumar who played the character of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar in the historical epic, met Rajinikanth this morning (October 9) at his residence where the legendary actor heaped praise for Sarath Kumar's work.

Sarath Kumar shared this good news with his fans and followers on social media by sharing a video comprising of the moments from his meeting with Superstar Rajinikanth. Sarath Kumar's daughter and actress Varalaxmi was also present in this special meet. Sharing the video on his Instagram page, Sarath Kumar wrote, "What a better way to start my day..meeting #rajini sir personally to thank him for his elaborate appreciation of my character in ponniyin selvan " Periya Pazhavettaiyar" Friends catching up over coffee..discussion at length about my work, varu's work and views on life in general.. thank you sir for spending almost an hour with us discussing our future projects and the growth of our industry...thank you for having us over..".

It can be noted that Superstar Rajinikanth wanted to play the Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar character in Ponniyin Selvan and the star actor had talked about it at the audio launch event. Ponniyin Selvan, starring Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Karthi, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles, is running successfully in the theatres and has already collected more than 350 crores at the worldwide box office. The film is expected to continue its phenomenal run at the box office for the next two weeks and there is indeed no stopping this historical epic. The second part of Ponniyin Selvan is currently in the post production stages and the film will release in the summer of 2023.
