The remastered version of Baba is generating massive excitement among fans and it will be interesting to see what the makers have packaged with visuals that have never been seen before. The film was one of the biggest releases during its release in 2002 and came out with massive hype unlike any other in those times. He wrote, "A film that will forever be closest to my heart … #Baba remastered version releasing soon."
Suresh Krissna, who has delivered box-office blockbusters like Annamalai, Veera, and Baasha with Rajinikanth, has been overseeing the remastering of Baba, with A. R. Rahman also working on the enhancement of the film's background score. The film has Rajinikanth paired with Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala, while Goundamani, Sujatha, Ashish Vidhyarthi, M. N. Nambiar, Vijayakumar, Sayaji Shinde, Bharat Dabholkar, Delhi Ganesh appear in pivotal roles. Baba, which was released in 2002, did not perform as expected at the box office despite the massive hype, with the actor later compensating for the losses incurred by the film’s distributors, thus also setting a new standard in the industry.
