One of Tamil cinema’s most flamboyant stars, STR was last seen in Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven released earlier this year after the blockbuster success of his Chekka Chivantha Vaanam under director Mani Ratnam alongside a multi-star cast last year. That said, the most elusive project for Simbu has been Maanaadu with director Venkat Prabhu, which was initially announced last year. Since then, Maanaadu has seen a delay in its start with producer Suresh Kamatchi later going on to issue a statement saying the film will not be made with STR. However, Suresh Kamatchi had taken to his Twitter page last night to share pictures of his meeting with Simbu, who is en route to Sabarimalai on a spiritual journey, to reveal that Maanaadu is back on track and a release date for the film’s theatrical release will be announced soon.

Fans will no doubt be mighty excited to hear the news of Simbu and producer Suresh Kamatchi of V House Creations reuniting once again for their Maanaadu under director Venkat Prabhu with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead. The actor is also set to be seen opposite Hansika in Maha, which will mark his reunion with the actress after their Vaalu in 2015. The swashbuckling star is also attached to the tentatively titled STR 45 alongside Gautham Karthik under Kannada director Narthan being produced by K. E. Gnanavelraja’s Studio Green banner. Likewise, it also needs to be seen what happens with Maghaa Maanaadu, which was announced for a release in 5 languages under STR's direction at a budget of Rs. 125 crores by the Chimbu Cine Arts banner.
