The entire nation woke up to a shocking news yesterday (25.02.2018) morning after it came to light acclaimed actor Sridevi Kapoor had passed away.
Popularly referred to as the first female superstar of India, Sridevi, 54, had reportedly passed away due to a cardiac arrest on Saturday night (24.02.2018) at 11.30PM.
As Sridevi’s mortal remains are expected to arrive in India today on a chartered flight, the actor’s family has now given an official statement. It is as follows: "Boney Kapoor, Jhanvi, Khushi and the entire Kapoor, Ayyappan and Marwah family is deeply bereaved and shocked with the untimely loss of Sridevi Kapoor,".
The statement further read, "They thank the entire media for their prayers, support and sensitivity during their time of grief. Late Sridevi Kapoor’s body will arrive in India today,".
As the nation mourns the loss of an on screen legend, it must be noted Sridevi had also been felicitated with the Padma Shri Award, the fourth highest civilian award from the Government of India.
