Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's younger daughter Soundarya had posted a picture of herself with her son Ved in the swimming pool on her Twitter space. She had captioned the photo, "Teach them early ... and they learn to shine by themselves !!! #Swimming is an essential activity !! #TeachThemYoung #KeepThemActive #WaterFun #EnsureSafetyAlways #NeverLeaveThemAlone #Motherhood #Bliss." Soundarya’s post did not go well among the people of Tamil Nadu who are suffering from water crisis problem. They felt it was insensitive of Soundarya to post a pool photo during such crisis situation. Several trolls and memes were made against Soundarya regarding this issue.

Soundarya was quick enough to clarify her reason for posting that pool photos. Apparently, it was an old picture that was shared in good spirit to indulge younger children into physical activities. Soundarya took down the picture, and tried to explain herself. This is what she had to say:

"Removed the pictures shared in good spirit from my #TravelDiaries considering the sensitivity around the current #WaterScarcity we are facing. The throwback pics were to emphasise the importance for physical activities for children from a young age only. #LetsSaveWater."
