An awards ceremony unlike any other the nation has witnessed in recent years, The Galatta Crown 2022, held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on May 8, 2022, continues to be the talk of the town as it was graced by some of the biggest names in Indian cinema, including Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh, followed by leading South Indian stars like Sivakarthikeyan, Nayanthara, Vignesh Shivan, Keerthy Suresh, Arya, Sayyeshaa, Anirudh Ravichander, Nelson Dilipkumar, Priyanka Mohan, Pa Ranjith, Lokesh Kanagaraj, SJ Suryah, Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, Venkat Prabhu, Krithi Shetty, Kalyani Priyadarshan, to name a notable few. 

In that light, a big talking point among fans and the celebrities who attended The Galatta Crown 2022 was actor-producer Sivakarthikeyan taking home the Favourite Actor - Male (2021-2022) award for his performance in Doctor. The award was presented to SK by Mr. Adityaram, Chairman and Managing Director of Adityaram Group, filmmaker-actor SJ Suryah, and actor-politician Udhayanidhi Stalin. Extending his gratitude to fans for their support, Sivakarthikeyan started off his speech by saying, "This award is for the film Doctor. I want to thank everyone for their support in making Doctor such a huge success. And, I also want to tip my hat to director Nelson Dilipkumar for his conviction in me to take up such a role, which required me not to laugh or get angry in any of the scenes in the film. I also want to thank Galatta especially for this award." 

Speaking about his association with composer Anirudh Ravichander, Sivakarthikeyan said, "I would like to say that I would feel better if I'm not called a lyricist and poet. I say this because I'm traveling on a bike being ridden by Anirudh. Although this isn't something being done alone, I do have the desire to engage in such endeavors. And, it is awards like this that give me the motivation to pursue further and work harder." Talking about his Don co-star SJ Suryah, Sivakarthikeyan pointed out, "He is very sweet. If he notices something special in a person, he will motivate them accordingly. It's his effort to motivate others that I like a lot. As a matter of fact, before entering the cinema industry, I used to do mimicry and I earned the most by impersonating him." On a joyful note, SK told SJ Suryah to not ask him for a share, while adding that he earned only about Rs. 2,000 to 2,5000 for his work back in the day. However, SJ Suryah informed that Sivakarthikeyan had given him an ample amount as his salary in Don, leaving everyone at The Galatta Crown 2022, including the celebrities in splits.
