Maaveeran is the next big film by actor Sivakarthikeyan that is set to release in theatres this weekend. The cast and crew of the film addressed the press and media on Monday ahead of the theatrical release and shared interesting insights about the film. The actor shared about the film Maaveeran and said that he was excited for the release of the film. He stated that he liked the first films of the director Madonne Ashwin, Mandela and that's how he spoke about doing a film with the director. He said “What I like about Madonna is that he will take the very tough story and tough plot but it will have a social responsibility and he presents it in a way that everyone will like it. My daughter and my mother likes Mandela". He said that presence of these elements in a film are tough but he handled them well in Mandela and in the same way he has done in Maaveeran too. “Though the story is different there is a social responsibility in the film but there will be no dialogues that will tell a message but by the end of the film, the audience will know the message”, said the actor.

Sivakarthikeyan then stated that "we all know Lokesh Kanagaraj Brother well, but Madonne Ashwin and him are close as they have worked together. What Lokesh said about him to me was ‘brother, I am a last bench student brother I would just do something and make a film, but Madonne is the first bench student brother, that is how he will do his films brother' and I kept that in mind while going to shoot'”. Sivakarthikeyan said that is what he had in mind when he went to shoot but only after going to work, he got to know that he was not a student but a headmaster as he was strict. He added "I have not seen him scolding anyone but he would extract what he wanted out of everyone by asking people."
Maaveeran actor Sivakarthikeyan then stated that he did what the director had asked him to do in entire film and that people will see a different dimension of him just like what they saw in Doctor. The actor then spoke about each cat member of the film including Female Lead Adithi Shankar, Director Mysskin who plays the Villain role, veteran Actress Saritha, Cook With Comal fame Monisha Blessy and other technicians in the film.
