Maaveeran was initially announced to be coming out in August but was preponed to July and the news no doubt raised tremendous excitement among fans, who are now waiting for a glimpse in the form of a teaser soon. Sivakarthikeyan's popularity has been getting bigger among the Telugu-speaking people and the decision to release Mahaveerudu alongside the Tamil version shows the team is looking to capitalize on the actor's star power. The expectations for Maaveeran are massive considering Sivakarthikeyan's last big release, Prince, received mixed reviews and the actor-producer will be looking to hit the bullseye once again.
Featuring music by Bharath Sankar of Mandela fame, the anticipation for Maaveeran has been huge right from the moment the film went on floors last year after the team released an intriguing announcement video showing Sivakarthikeyan in action mode. The film has the actor paired with Aditi Shankar, who became a youth sensation after her powerful performance in Karthi's Viruman, with Mysskin cast as the antagonist, followed by Yogi Babu, veteran actress Saritha and Pushpa fame Sunil appearing in key roles. Maaveeran is one of the two Sivakarthikeyan films announced for release this year, with the other one being the long-awaited sci-fi venture Ayalaan, which will hit screens this Diwali in November.
