Explaining the discussions he had with director R. Ravikumar for the look of the alien character in Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan, T. Muthuraj said, "Initially, I conceived several designs. I thought about designing an alien that the world has not seen to date and came up with various concepts. But, he was firm in his stance that he wanted an alien that everyone had seen before because only then would our people understand and I too felt that he was right. In such an instance, will you now say that we copied the alien character's look in the film? No, right. The point he put forward was correct and I liked what he said. And, so I did some color variation for the character because the audience will connect and know that it's an alien."
Muthuraj further stated, "Ravikumar is a wonderful director. Whatever he has thought, I have executed [visually]. The film will be fun and fully engaging. He is extremely clear about what he wants. And, his rapport with Sivakarthikeyan is really good as they are friendly with each other. This film will work out really well, but has been prolonged because of the issues, and makes you wonder when it will come out. Sometimes when I watch other films, I think about Ayalaan and how it hasn't yet been completed and would wish that it had been released. It's going to be a different experience and kids are going to enjoy it a lot."
