Sita Ramam is a period romance film written and directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and produced by Swapna Cinema and by C. Aswani Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies. The film stars Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur (in her Telugu debut), Rashmika Mandanna and Sumanth. With the film set in the backdrop of 1964, Lieutenant Ram, an orphan army officer serving at Kashmir border, gets anonymous love letters from Sita Mahalakshmi. Ram is on a mission to find Sita and propose his love. The film was released theatrically on 5 August 2022 and opened to rave and positive reviews from both fans and critics.
Within a week since its release, Sita Ramam managed to do extremely well at the box office and as a result, even managed to rake in a whopping sum due to it. This timeless blockbuster has managed to collect more than 40 crores at the worldwide box office. In order to announce this grand feat., Dulquer Salmaan himself took to his official Twitter handle to share this great piece of information. The film has music composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar, cinematography by P. S. Vinod and Shreyaas Krishna and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. The digital distribution rights of the film were acquired by Amazon Prime Video. Meanwhile, on the work front, Dulquer Salmaan will be seen in the Hindi crime thriller film Chup: Revenge Of The Artist, for which filming has been completed. This Balki directorial will also star Sunny Deol, Shreya Dhanwanthary and Pooja Bhatt in key roles. On the other hand, Mrunal Thakur has the films Pippa, Aankh Micholi, and Gumraah in her kitty.
Finally, Rashmika Mandanna is the most busiest with a completely booked schedule. She will first appear in Goodbye alongside Amitabh Bachchan, then she had Mission Majnu in which she will be costarring with Sidharth Malhotra. She will also be starring in Thalapathy Vijay starrer Varisu which has been scheduled to release sometime around the Pongal season of 2023. She also has Pushpa 2: The Rule which is the direct sequel to Pushpa: The Rise, and last but not the least, Animal with Ranbir Kapoor.
