Visually-impaired singing sensation Nochipatti Thirumoorthy has once again set social media buzzing with excitement after his rendition of the 'Pathala Pathala' song from Kamal Haasan's Vikram. The chart-buster song composed by Anirudh Ravichander and featuring vocals and lyrics by the 'Ulaganayagan' himself has turned out to be a chart-buster and so has Thirumoorthy's recent performance in front of the Tamil cinema stalwart, which continues to be the talk of the town, as videos show him singing the song to precision using a bucket as an instrument. After his meeting with Kamal Haasan, Thirumoorthy sat down for an exclusive interview with Galatta and opened up about his interaction with the Tamil cinema superstar, while also revealing that he had told him about making arrangements for joining A. R. Rahman's KM College of Music & Technology.
Thirumoorthy told Galatta, "I received a call from Kamal sir's office suddenly and was told about his interest in meeting me. I felt elated once I heard those words as it was something I had never expected. Apart from appreciating me for my work, he surprised me by asking if I'd be interested to join A. R. Rahman's school of music and I was taken aback by what he said because I have always wanted to learn music. For this to happen and for me to meet Kamal sir was something I had not anticipated."
Speaking about the advice Kamal Haasan had given him, Thirumoorthy said, "Sir told me to keep learning more and more every day as it will help me to come to a position on my own in my life." He also revealed that he first heard the 'Pathala Pathala' song after Vikram released in theatres and it was his brother Murali who suggested that he sing the song and make a video. Thirumoorthy was introduced in Tamil cinema by composer D. Imman in the Jiiva-starrer Seeru, who earlier this week posted a video with the singer and wrote on Twitter, "I’m so elated with all the proceedings of Singer Thirumoorthi! May you Rise Higher and Higher! I will always be a happy man adoring your baby steps towards Mighty Achievements! Thanks to Kamal Sir for your kind support!"
