Siddique forms FEFKA
In a meeting convened on Tuesday at Kochi, the rival faction led by director Siddique in the Malayalam Cine Technicians Association (MACTA) has decided to form a new Federation named the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA). The official announcement of the new association will be held next month.
The faction claimed that the formation of new federation is being done in accordance with the guidances given by two national organizations -- Indian Film Employees Confederation (IFEC) and Film Employees' Federation of South India (FEFSI) -- during a national executive meeting held in Chennai last week.
B. Unnikrishnan and Siddique, who attended the meeting in Chennai, claimed that during the meeting, they were intimated that MACTA has no affiliation with IFEC at present. That is the main reason to form a new federation in the Malayalam film industry, B. Unnikrishnan said.
Meanwhile, the faction led by director Vinayan said that the move to form a new federation is illegal. They alleged that Siddique has no support from FEFSI or IFEC to form a new Federation.
