Actor-producer Siddharth is set to feature more on the big screens in the next two years with multiple projects starting with the much-awaited Takkar scheduled for a release on June 9. The upcoming film is coming out after a long delay after initially being announced for an April 2020 release and the excitement among fans has shot up, especially after an action-packed trailer was unveiled a few days back, followed by a few interesting promos that have received a good response. Siddharth, who also has in the pipeline films like Chiththa, The Test, and the biggie Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan under Shankar's direction, recently took part in a special fans festival event organized by Galatta Media ahead of Takkar's release and spoke about his journey in cinema, while also addressing a slight comparison in terms of the approach to the growth in his career to that of Academy Award-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
Siddharth did not stick to only starring in romantic films and often mixed his projects similar to how Leonardo DiCaprio did after the global success of Romeo + Juliet (1996) and Titanic (1997). Explaining his decision, the Takkar actor said, "I'll become the (Leonardo) DiCaprio of India in the next 10 years. I'll tell you the reason. I get jealous when I see DiCaprio because Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg made back-to-back films with him. I felt extremely jealous after seeing this. He didn't have a beard at the time and it was the same with me as well. Many girls love him a lot and some girls love me too. Then, how come Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg are making films again with him?" He continued, "I then asked why Mani (Ratnam) sir and Shankar sir weren't making films with me again. That turnabout has come for that question now. Indian 2 has come my way and I'll convince sir for another film with him. So, in the next 10 years, with a lot of effort and vigor, if I get repeat films with Shankar sir and Mani Sir, you can then proudly say that Leonardo DiCaprio is the Siddharth of America. There's no problem in that."
