Ace director SS Rajamouli came up with the blockbuster hits Baahubali films - Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubai: The Conclusion that raised bars for all filmmakers and studios across India. After the success of the franchise, the National Award-winning filmmaker announced his next to be a magnanimous film with an equally strong cast as that was seen in his previous films.
Titled RRR, this Rajamouli film includes Telugu superstars Jr. NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles, Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt as the female lead, Ajay Devgn in a vital supporting role alongside Tamil actor Samuthirakani.
Meanwhile, it is common knowledge that British actress Daisy Edgar-Jones was also cast as the second female lead, who was soon flooded with followers and messages asking her for updates on RRR. She has so far remained tight-lipped about her presence in the film and her followers had thought it to be a strict instruction from the team. It must be noted that the actress too had up until now did not acknowledge her presence in the film.
Now, the RRR team has officially announced on their social networking pages that Daisy Edgar-Jones is no longer part of the upcoming period action film. As per the tweet, the actress’s exit is due to unavoidable circumstances. It now remains to be seen whom the team will look to bring on board as the British actress' replacement, which we expect to be made public in the days ahead.
As of now production on RRR for Pune schedule has been put on hold for three weeks after Ram Charan sustained a minor ankle injury during a workout session in the gym a few days back with the actor being advised to rest for the next few days.
Due to unavoidable circumstances, @DaisyEdgarJones is no longer a part of our film. We hope she has a brilliant future. #RRR
