Mani Ratnam hunts for fresh talent before he commences a new film and everytime a promising new lead cast would blast the theater screens.

While Kaatru Veliyidai had mixed responses, it definitely introduced an amazing heroine Aditi Rao. But, she wasn’t the first choice for Mani Ratnam as the director considered many actors with Sai Pallavi on top of the list.

Some unsaid reasons made Sai Pallavi miss the role and the same happened for Charlie remake as well as Vikram’s Sketch. She is finally making her Tamil debut with director Vijay’s Karu.
