Shankara Punyakoti: Film about cows
Cows are an integral part of our lives regardless of our caste or religion and that is the message which Shankara Punyakoti, directed by art director turned director G. Murthy, tries to impart. Incidentally, some of the scenes have been shot at Neelavara where Sri Pejawar Swamiji maintains 600 cows; the other locations include Kallu Ganapathi, Kolake Bailu, Gokarna, Hesaralu Aramane and temple surroundings.
The filmhas beencompleted on a shoestring budget of Rs. 60 lakhs. Sharat Babu plays the role of the protagonist supported by Vinayaprakash, Susheelakka, Ramesh Bhat and others. Srinivas Sood and Amaranath Hegde are the producers; Sharat Babu says that the producers are reallybrave to make a film withsuch asubject.
The film, featuring six songs and four shlokas, is expected to be a welcome change in violence-engrossed Sandalwood.
