As Shaakuntalam is set to release on March 14, Samantha Ruth Prabhu gave an exciting interview sharing details about the film and some insight into her personal life. As the actress celebrated being a part of the cinema industry for 13 years recently, the anchor asked how she felt about it the journey. Samantha replied “I don’t think about it a lot. But, recently I was shooting in Ramoji Film City for two-three days and suddenly, I got flashes of every single time that I have come to Ramoji. my first audition was in Ramoji and I remembered different phases of my life coming to Ramoji. Being in love, a bad day at work, good day at work, all of these flashes hit me suddenly. That’s when I remembered, how far I have come. The journey has been so long."
As the anchor asked what she would say to version of Samantha 13 years ago. The actress said "I would say you have become a strong girl, You became very very strong". The anchor then asked about how she chooses stories with different characters, though she has been in the industry for many years. Samantha said "I was doing Family Man, and the full gritty (characters), Super Deluxe and very real characters. From when I was a kid, I had this Disney fascination in me. I have watched all Disney films, it's my favourite genre. If I am sad I watch Disney, If I am happy I watch Disney, I need a pick me up I watch Disney. I have seen all Disney films. So, when first sir came to me with this (Shaakuntalam) I said I won’t do it and that I don't have that grace (for it) but actually in the last three-four years I have said no to all the characters I have acted in, because of fear. Fear that I won’t be able to do it. I think what can define my journey is that I fear. I fear every day and somehow I find a way to confront that fear. I won’t let that fear become stronger than me. I fear daily. What can define me both as an actor and my journey is that I confront my fear, when I said ok; We’ll do it, We’ll try. It is not just for Shaakuntalam, over the last few years many films I did were the ones that I feared and that is when I know something special is about to happen. If there is no fear, there is no kick in it."
