Sean Roldan is a music composer who has worked predominantly in the Tamil film industry and has delivered many hits films Including Joker, Mehandi Circus, Dharala Prabhu, Jai Bhim, etc. This year three of his projects were released including August 16 1947. Good Night starring Manikandan and in the anthology web series Modern Love Chennai. He composed music for the part titled Lalagunda Bommaigal. The song titled Uravu which comes in the of the episode has become a hit number and a short video of just the scene has also become viral on social media.
The music composer Sean Roldan gave an exclusive interview where he spoke about the song Uravu with National Award-winning critic Baradwaj Rangan, Editor in Chief of Galatta Plus. The director shared some in-depth details about the making of every aspect of the song during the interview. The director said he wanted to make it a bittersweet song. The host then asked if Yugabharathi wrote the lyrics first or if he made the tunes first as it's set in a question-answer pattern. “Initially, I started writing songs, and mostly, I would write my song and it will not be something you want to hear meaning it won't be popular. It will take you into a philosophical rabbit hole. My music is a consequence of my contemplation in life itself. Although I have learned music and I do it with a zeal for life. I concentrate on what am doing at that time. So, if I am going through something in life, my song could reflect that. That is how I have been able to retain the identity that this guy is different. People has some perceptions about what different I am."
Sean Roldan said "When I started for Joker, I began working with Yugabharathi and Raju Murugan, I would be playing something and they will say if we shall go with it. It's happened as you go having a tea and chatting. Because we have an idea what we should do for the film. I think, If you are in an environment with another creator where the importance of making a song is absolutely lost then it’s possible to create honest lyrics. Whenever Yugabharathi has written for me from Joker, he said he finds this effectively." As the anchor said "you would actually be Jamming." Sean Roldan said "exactly, Jam as in it's more of a streamlined jam where we know we are going and know about the situation of the song. Still if you are jamming, there will be no barrier.
