Undoubtedly one of the biggest films coming out this year for Diwali in November, Sarkar, starring ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay under A. R. Murugadoss’s direction has been embroiled in one specific controversy ever since the first look poster was unveiled on June 21.
Being produced under the Sun Pictures banner with music by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman, the first look poster of Sarkar has come under fire from a few among whom Pattali Makkal Katchi leader Anbumani Ramadoss went on to state Vijay smoking a cigarette is a bad influence for the youth since many are his ardent fans.

Likewise, a Mr. Tamizhvendhan, a lawyer has now filed a complaint against Vijay at the Chennai Commissioner Office requesting him to speak with A. R. Murugadoss to remove the poster featuring the actor with the cigarette.
Tamizhvendhan further stated cigarettes are a major cause for cancer and the Sarkar poster featuring Vijay smoking could influence youngsters in a negative manner since many of them look up to him.
It now remains to be seen how the Sarkar team responds to this complaint.
