Sakthi and Lord Muruga

Shravana Sakthi, director of Dhandhayudhapani, who is directing Nayagan at present, had almost given up the hopes of making it big in Kollywood by the time he got his first break with Dhandhayudhapani. He was almost in tears when he narrated the story of his struggle. He left his village with an ambition of making it big in Kollywood. He struggled a lot, gave up food and sleep, and worked hard. But still a chance eluded him. Finally, when it looked like he had secured a film, it was called off. This was the last straw and he decided to leave for his home town. But as usual, he decided to pay Lord Muruga’s temple a visit before leaving. While in the temple, he received a phone call from the producer of a stalled film, requesting him to start working on the project. That is the reason he named this film Dhandhayudapani, after one of the several names of Lord Muruga. Yes! That is how Dhandhayudhapani was born.

Now he has got Nayagan and one more film is in the pipeline.
