One of the most expected movies of this year - the mega budget Saaho, starring Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor and a whole host of other big stars, hit the screens last Friday (August 30)! Said to have been made on a massive budget of Rs. 350 Crores, this movie is the first for Prabhas, after the huge success of his Baahubali franchise and naturally, the expectations skyrocketed. Saaho is a trilingual which released simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. Unfortunately, the reviews for this movie have not been all that great and most fans feel that they have been let down and their expectations were not met. However, this has not deterred the movie from having a great Box Office opening with staggering numbers as collections.
With a stunning opening day collection of over Rs. 68 Crores, Saaho has already crossed Rs. 200 Crores in Box Office collections, across the world. Saaho is said to have become the movie with the third highest Box Office opening in Hindi in 2019, following Bharat and Mission Mangal. The opening collections records have also surpassed those of Avengers: Endgame and Thugs of Hindostan. Directed by Sujeeth and jointly produced jointly by Vamsi Krishna Reddy, Pramod Uppalapati and Bhushan Kumar for the UV Creations and T-Series banners, Saaho's background score has been composed by Ghibran with Tanishk Bagchi, Guru Randhawa and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy handling the music for the songs.
The star-studded cast of Saaho includes Jackie Shroff, Arun Vijay, Lal, Mandira Bedi, Prakash Belavadi, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Tinnu Anand, Mahesh Manjrekar, Chunky Pandey, Vennela Kishore, Murali Sharma and a number of others. Despite having a great opening and breaking records, Saaho could not beat the opening day collections of Baahubali: The Conclusion, which grossed Rs. 121 Crores on Day 1 itself.
