Rettai Chuzhi launched
Filming of Rettai Chuzhi (also referred to as Rettai Suzhi) – which stars K. Balachander and Bharathi Raja, two of the greatest directors of the Tamil film industry – began in Tirunelveli today.
Rettai Chuzhi has become the talk of the town ever since it was announced that the two legendary directors will act in it. Adding to its image of “it could never get any bigger than this” is the prowess of director Shankar’s S Pictures, which produces it. Of late, the magnificent director has been producing quite a├п┬┐┬╜number of beautiful projects; Ananthapurathu Veedu and Eeram plus and directing├п┬┐┬╜the dream project Enthiran.
Rettai Chuzhi├п┬┐┬╜will be directed by Thamira, an erstwhile dialogue writer for K. Balachander. In fact, he is the one who convinced K. Balachander and Bharathi Raja to act in this film.
Music is by Karthik Raja, the talented son of maestro Ilayaraja. If his musical talent has to be explained by an example, nothing serves the purpose better than his first Bollywood film Grahan, which is still identified for its song ‘Kahe the hai jisko’. It is a tremendous achievement for a music director to leave an everlasting impression in Bollywood which has the widest range of audience in India. The music director’s latest presentation is Achamundu Achamundu, which will be released soon.├п┬┐┬╜
Writer-turned-cinematographer Chezhian handles the camera for Rettai Chuzhi. He rose to prominence with his beautiful camera work in Kalloori.
You are wrong if you think that├п┬┐┬╜Bharathi Raja and K. Balachander have taken up the latest fad of directors turning actors.├п┬┐┬╜Both these directors have acted in films even in the days when directors made rare appearance in films.├п┬┐┬╜While Bharathi Raja├п┬┐┬╜acted in Kallukkul Eeram, which was released in the 80s and also in Aayutha Ezhuthu directed by Mani Ratnam,├п┬┐┬╜Balachander├п┬┐┬╜acted in Prakashraj's Poi and in his own TV serials too.
