National sensation Rashmika Mandanna's new film with leading Telugu actor Nithiin under Venky Kudumula was launched on Friday, March 24, in a grand ceremony in Hyderabad. Tentatively titled VNR trio, the upcoming film's first shot clap was done by 'Megastar' Chiranjeevi, with leading Telugu filmmakers Bobby, Gopichand Malineni, Hanu Raghavapudi, and Buchi Babu Sana gracing the launch event. Being produced by blockbuster Telugu production banner Mythri Movie Makers, VNR trio also marks the big screen reunion of Nithiin and Rashmika after their romantic comedy film, Bheeshma, released in early 2020 before the coronavirus lockdown.
A special announcement video for VNR trio was released earlier this featured on director Venky Kudumuka and lead stars Nithiin and Rashmika along with the revelation that National Award-winning Tamil composer G. V. Prakash Kumar is the music director of the film. The film's announcement video created quite a lot of buzz instantly as it featured Rashmika and Nithiin taking a dig at themselves, with the former saying, "My one statement is followed by two-three controversies", to which the latter is seen replying, "That's much better, my one hit is followed by two-three flops." VNR trio is Rashmika's first big film announcement after the blockbuster success of Varisu in Tamil, which saw her sharing screen space with 'Thalapathy' Vijay under Vamshi Paidipally's direction and was produced by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. The actress currently has in her lineup films like Animal in Hindi opposite Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor and the pan-Indian Telugu venture, Pushpa: The Rule, in which she will reprise her character Srivalli and once again share screen space with Allu Arjun. There's a lot of excitement surrounding VNR trio, especially after the quirky announcement video featured on Nithiin and Rashmika, giving audiences a hint on the overall tone of the film, which includes Sai Sriram handling the cinematography, Prawin Pudi taking care of the editing, and Ram Kumar serving as the art director.
