There are several sports-related films being made among which ‘83 is based on the Indian National cricket team that won the 1983 Cricket World Cup. A multi-starrer, the film stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone as the lead pair followed by Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Jiiva, Ammy Virk, Harrdy Sandhu, Pankaj Tripathi, Sahil Khattar and Chirag Patil in supporting roles. Announced to hit theatres worldwide on April 10, 2020, the first look of actor Ranveer Singh portraying former Indian Captain Kapil Dev has now been unveiled on the occasion of the Bollywood superstar’s birthday today.
Ranveer Singh’s Kapil Dev look is nothing short of extraordinary as the actor and the team of ‘83 have knocked it out of the park at nailing the look. Kapil Dev played an instrumental role throughout the 1983 Cricket World Cup and fans await the iconic moments to be recreated once again on the big screen when it hits screens next year. Being directed by Kabir Khan and featuring music by Pritam, ‘83 is being produced jointly by Vibri Media, Reliance Entertainment, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and KA Productions banners with distribution being done by Reliance Entertainment and Jio Studios.
