The 40 day lockdown period across the country to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Corona Virus has resulted in most of the citizens staying indoors. Though some of us continue to work from home, there are quite a few people who are left wondering as to what to do, to keep themselves occupied. Online and OTT platforms are having quite a boom with hundreds and thousands of people turning to them for entertainment content to kill the time. Some of the old people are still very much attached to Television series and show. They continue to watch series on Television even though service providers do not have anything new to offer.  
 
National Broadcaster Doordarshan recently entered the fray and is bringing back nostalgia to the people. One of the most popular shows on TV during the 80s and 90s was the mythological epic Ramayana, which was directed by Ramanand Sagar and was telecast on DD from 1987 to 1988. Doordarshan has been repeating Ramayana for the past 1 month and the show has turned out to be a rousing success. Lakhs of people are more than happy to watch this show again and guess what, the show has now made a smashing record. Yes, Ramayana becomes of the most-viewed television show in a single. Around 7.7 crore people had watched the show on DD on the 16th of April. This is apparently the second most of a Television show globally only behind an American show M*A*S*H which was aired between 1972 to 1983.
