Nani started his career as assistant director and worked with Srinu Vaitla and Bapu before working as an RJ for World Space Satellite in Hyderabad. Nani made his film debut in 2008 with the hit romantic comedy Ashta Chamma. He then started in commercially successful films such as Ride, Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu, Ala Modalaindi, Pilla Zamindar, Eega, Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, Yevade Subramanyam, Bhale Bhale Magadivoy,
Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha, Gentleman, Nenu Local, Ninnu Kori, Middle Class Abbayi, and Jersey, Gang Leader. After quite a struggle, Nani has now established himself as a successful actor. Nani turned producer for the film D for Dopidi, which was co-produced by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK and starred Sundeep Kishan, Varun Sandesh, and Naveen Polishetty. He also lent his voice to the film. D for Dopidi released in 2013 became a commercial success at the box office. He then launched his own production banners to produce his next film. His second production venture, Awe, was released in 2018 and was also a critical and commercial success. Then he also produced a movie called HIT: The First Case which was released on 28 February 2020 which again did so well at the box office. 
 
Hit: The First Case is a Telugu mystery-thriller film directed by debutant Sailesh Kolanu and produced by Nani and Prashanti Tipirneni. It features Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma in the lead roles. Now the latest big news coming our way is that Hit will now be remade in Hindi. This version of Hit will feature the critically acclaimed actor Rajkummar Rao in the lead role and will be produced by Dil Raju. "When I saw 'HIT', I instantly connected with it. It's an engaging story, relevant in today's environment. As an actor I am always on the lookout to play characters I haven't explored and 'HIT' gives me a chance to do that . I'm looking forward to taking this journey with Sailesh and Dil Raju," Rao said in a statement.
