A massive film in the making, DARBAR, starring ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth under A. R. Murugadoss’s direction was officially announced to come out as a grand Pongal 2020 release. Filming had officially entered the second schedule yesterday (May 29) at Mumbai with the action entertainer being produced under the Lyca Productions banner.
With the second schedule already underway in Mumbai, cinematographer Santosh Sivan took to his Twitter page a while back to update fans about his working experience with ‘Thalaivar’ Rajinikanth in Darbar saying the star continues to be “awesome” in his performance while adding it is his energy that still keeps him younger.
It must be noted the reputed National Award-winning cameraman is working with Rajinikanth after their blockbuster, Thalapathi, released in 1991 under ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s direction.
Darbar carries huge expectations as the film also features big names such as Nayanthara playing the female lead followed by Bollywood actors Suniel Shetty and Prateik Babbar as the antagonists and Yogi Babu providing the comedic relief.
The excitement surrounding Darbar has been tremendous ever since the project was announced as the film includes a stellar technical crew with names like Anirudh Ravichander scoring the music, editing being done by Sreekar Prasad, art direction by T. Santanam, stunt choreography by the Ram-Laxman duo, lyrics by Vivek and Niharikha Bhasin Khan overseeing the costume department.
