The global sensation RRR created history recently as it took India to the Oscar stage because Naatu Naatu song won the Academy Awards in the Best Original Song category on Monday. The music composer of the film MM Keeravaani and Lyricist Chandrabose received the golden trophy at the event amidst many Hollywood stars. The director of the film SS Rajamouli, and leads Ram Charan and Jr.NTR were also present at the event. It was the most talked about topic and it was one of the two Indian films that won Oscars, as The Elephant Whisperers won in the Best Documentary Short Film category.

After winning the Oscars, the director of RRR, SS Rajamouli, and the music composer MM Keeravaani attended the Oscars after the party of Vanity Fair. Walking the red carpet of the event, Hollywood trade magazine Variety asked the director SS Rajamouli if the script work of the sequel of RRR would be faster now as the film has won Oscar. Rajamouli replied “Obviously, Oscar win is going to put some acceleration in the script, definitely yes, let's see". At first, after the initial release of RRR, the director said they had no plans for a sequel. The filmmakers announced last year that a sequel to RRR is in the works. He has revealed in an interview that MM Keeravaani, the oscar winning music composer gave an idea that he felt ”Oh my god, this is a great idea. This is the idea that is worth pursuing”. The team has now began immediately working on the sequel.
RRR has created history by winning multiple awards internationally including the Golden Globes win for Naatu Naatu, and five awards in the Hollywood Film Critics Association Awards. After the film debuted on Netflix movie, It became global and recently, the film was screened in one of the biggest theatres in LA, with an houseful audience.
