Rahman nominated for Oscars again
After a spectacular concert at the Paramatta Park in Sydney on Saturday night, the Mozart of Madras was back in the city�to launch the audio of his Hollywood flick Couples Retreat.
Meanwhile, the Sydney concert turned out to be a spectacular event with colours, lights, dance and music. The free concert was estimated to have�welcomed 75,000 visitors at the venue. The three hour programme literally transformed Sydney into an Indian city.
The good news is that a Tamil number 'Na na...' written and composed by Rahman for his Hollywood flick Couples Retreat has been nominated for the Academy Awards. Rahman's music score is among the 63 songs shortlisted in the Best Song category for the 82nd Academy Awards this year. 'Na na...' is very special to the musical genius as it has some bits sung by his son.
Couples Retreat is a comedy flick that tells the story of four couples marooned on an island. Saregama India launched the sound track in Chennai on Monday.
