Raghava Lawrence is back with a bang with his latest big screen entertainer, Rudhran, after his last film, Kanchana 3: Muni 4, released in 2019 turned out to be a phenomenal box office success. Having not been seen in too many ventures since then and also let go of playing a pivotal role in 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan's blockbuster Vikram directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj released last year, the actor-filmmaker recently opened up during a special fans festival held in his honor in Chennai. Speaking about his role in Vikram, Lawrence said, "I was supposed to do the role played by Vijay Sethupathi sir. Lokesh Kanagaraj sir also narrated the story to me. Later on, there were scheduling issues and is why I couldn't work in the film."

Regarding his upcoming film lineup, Lawrence revealed that 'Thalapathy' Vijay had at one point suggested him to do more films continuously rather than appear on screen once in two years. Lawrence added, "One of my fans too had told me during a visit to a temple to do two films in a year. I wanted to become a director and a dance master. Those wishes have been fulfilled. Even my mother told me to do more films as a hero so that she could watch me on the big screen often. So, when my friend and my mother told me to act in more films, I realized I had to do the job correctly. If I'm doing a film under someone else's direction, I have to go work with the right person who has the best script and the ones whom I saw had a different approach were Karthik Subbaraj, Vetri Maaran sir, Lokesh Kanagaraj. We often speak and when we couldn't do Vikram, we talked about another film. So, he's doing the story and screenplay for a venture, which will be directed by Rathna Kumar, and is currently in discussion. Then, there's Adhigaaram, which has story and screenplay written by Vetri Maaran sir and is being produced by him as well. So, it is my wish to plan well and do films with good directors, and it's now all falling in place. Chandramukhi 2 has happened. Jigarthanda 2 is happening now."
