Blockbuster production-distribution banner Lyca Productions on Thursday, August 3, announced on social media that the audio rights of their next big film, Chandramukhi 2, have been acquired by the prestigious audio label Sony Music. Starring Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles, the upcoming film directed by veteran filmmaker P. Vasu will feature music composed by Academy Award winner M. M. Keeravani and is scheduled for a grand release on the auspicious occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi this September. With the excitement getting bigger for Chandramukhi 2, promotions for the film have begun and this latest announcement about Sony Music bagging the audio rights shows that Lyca Productions will hit the top gear with the film's promotions in the days ahead. This latest announcement from Lyca Productions follows suit after the film's first look revealing Raghava Lawrence as 'Vettaiyan Raja' for the first time last week. Releasing in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages, the powerful first look gave audiences a glimpse into what to expect considering the film is the sequel to the box-office blockbuster Chandramukhi (2005), which featured 'Superstar' Rajinikanth in the lead role alongside Jyotika, Nayanthara, and Prabhu. With National Award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut playing the titular character, expectations are high for her to deliver yet another powerful and memorable performance along the lines of her role in Thalaivii (2021), which subsequently marked her debut in Tamil cinema.
Furthermore, Chandramukhi 2 is M. M. Keeravani's straight Tamil film comeback after nearly two decades when he composed for Sibiraj's debut Student Number 1 (2003), and fans will be expecting him to come up with memorable songs along the lines of his 'Naatu Naatu' in S. S. Rajamouli's global hit, RRR, which won the Academy Award for 'Best Original Song' at the Oscars earlier this year. Apart from Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut, Chandramukhi 2 includes an ensemble cast featuring stars like 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu and Raadhika Sarathkumar, Lakshmi Menon, Mahima Nambiar, Srushti Dange, Rao Ramesh, Ravi Mariya, Suresh Menon, T.
