Suriya 42 has a huge anticipation among fans from the release of the motion poster months ago. Suriya is set to play the role of a warrior in the periodic action film. Madan Karky who is the dialogue writer of the film had said earlier that the film will be different from what Siruthai Siva's films have looked like so far. The film is to be released in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam and is mounted on a massive budget. It will have music composed by Devi Sri Prasad with Disha Patani, Yogi Babu, Kovai Sarala, Anand Raj, and Redin Kingsley, in lead roles.

Dhananjayan is a notable producer in Tamil Cinema who has bankrolled multiple films and is also the founder of the BOFTA film academy. The producer has revealed inside information about the Tamil film industry as he sat down for an interview with Galatta Media and shared some exclusive details. When asked about Suriya 42 crew being quiet about updates from the film, Dhananjayan said "there is a huge hype for Suriya 41, KE Gnanavel Raja sir said the entire concentration of Studio Green should be on Pathu Thala. After the release of Pathu Thala, we will focus on Suriya 42. As the film will only be released in November, we want to take it slow. But, fans have been hyping about the film and creating posters every week."
The anchor asked about speculations that the pre-release business of Suriya 42 is higher than Leo's. Dhananjayan replied “producers do not open up about the pre-release business of films. We can't reveal it. So, it’s all speculative, No producer can say that they have earned this much from Ponniyin Selvan or this much from Vikram. It is all speculation! each producer will only know the true number and cannot reveal it publicly. But I can say that the film Suriya 42 saw the highest business in Suriya's career.
