Citadel is a upcoming Prime Video series starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in lead roles. The web-series will be a global TV franchise with a main show and local spin-offs around the world. The spy-thriller is directed by the directors of Avengers: Endgame, Joe and Antony Russo, and the series also features Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville, Osy Ikhile, Ashleigh Cummings, Roland Moller, Caoilinn Springall and more in supporting roles. The first two episodes of the series are set to drop on April 28, with new episodes weekly. The first look poster from the series was released a few days back and it took social media by storm
The trailer of the series was set to be launched this week. Prime Video officially announced on Wednesday that there will be a delay in the launch of the trailer. The streaming platform has sent a note to media houses that the delay is due to the tragic train accident in Greece. They said, “Out of respect for our international community and due to yesterday’s devastating breaking news from Greece, we are respectfully holding on sharing the official trailer for Citadel”. In Greece, two trains crashed head-on at high speeds, 234 miles north of Athens. The crash killed over 36 lives and has injured nearly 100.
The first look posters released by Prime Video earlier this week shows Priyanka Chopra sitting on a train with a gun pointed covertly at someone in a luxury dining car. It's speculated that the video streaming platform could have decided to delay the trailer launch as the contents of the trailer are believed to take place on the train. As a Global franchise series, Citadel's spin-off is already in the works in Italy and India. The Indian version has Raj and DK, masterminds behind The Family Man and Farzi, starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
