Thiruchitrambalam is an upcoming film written and directed by Mithran Jawahar of Yaaradi Nee Mohini fame. The film is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner Sun Pictures. The film stars Dhanush in the titular role with Raashi Khanna, Nithya Menon, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Prakash Raj, and Bharathiraja in prominent roles. The film has its music and score composed by Rockstar Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography handled by Om Prakash and editing taken on by Prasanna GK.

A few days back on July 7, it was announced that the film Thiruchitrambalam will be introducing its character to the public by sharing a poster of Dhanush. In the poster, Dhanush was seen looking at an Ilaiyaraaja poster inside a dilapidated house. Initially, Rashi Khanna's character was first revealed. She will be taking on the role of Anusha, a high school friend of Dhanush's character in the film.
Now, it is time for the reveal of the second character and that time has come. The character of Priya Bhavani Shankar has been revealed. She will be playing the role of Ranjani, a character hailing from a rural backdrop. Dhanush himself took to his official Twitter handle to make this announcement. Sharing a small motion poster of her character, he wrote, "Thiruchitrambalam… Priya Bhavani Shankar as Ranjani"

On the work front, Dhanush is gearing up for the release of a Netflix Original titled The Gray Man which is helmed by the famous Russo Brothers (Anthony and Joe Russo) of Avengers fame. He is also awaiting the release of Naane Varuven which is written and directed by his brother Selvaraghavan. Dhanush also has a bilingual film in his kitty. It is titled Vaathi in Tamil and Sir in Telugu. And finally, Captain Miller which is currently still in its pre-production phase.
