Prabhu Deva has added a new film to his lineup titled Musasi, which was announced on Thursday, and will feature the actor-filmmaker as a police officer. Directed by debutant Sam Rodrigues, the film touted to be an action thriller is being produced under John Britto's Joy Film Box Entertainment banner and also includes names like 'Master' Mahendran, VTV Ganesh, John Vijay among others in the star cast. Blockbuster director Lokesh Kanagaraj of Kaithi, Master, and the upcoming Vikram fame unveiled the Musasi first look poster, which has Prabhu Deva looking intense and ready for action.

Musasi is Prabhu Deva's next in his long list of films and includes in its technical crew names like Prasadh S. N. for the music, followed by cinematographer Vignesh Vasu, editor Antony, art director Mayapandi, with dialogues penned by Vignesh Jayapal, stunt choreography by Suresh and costume design by Swapna Suresh. Although not much is known about the film at this point, reports say Prabhu Deva will be seen in the role of a Deputy Commissioner of Police and will be the second time he is playing a cop after Pon Manickavel. Apart from Musasi, Prabhu Deva, who was last seen in Theal, is currently awaiting the release of the long-delayed Yung Mung Sung, the adult psychological thriller Bagheera, which has been directed by Trisha Illana Nayanthara fame Adhik Ravichandran and the fantasy comedy My Dear Bootham under Manjapai and Kadamban fame N. Raghavan's direction. He was also announced to be starring in the coming-of-age film Flashback opposite Regina Cassandra and popular Telugu heroine Anasuya Bharadwaj. Prabhu Deva is also starring in the action thriller Poikkal Kuthirai being directed by Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu fame Santhosh P. Jayakumar, with the cast also featuring names like Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Raiza Wilson in pivotal roles.
